About me
Louis Turpin was the 2016-17 District Governor for Rotary District 7210 in New York’s Hudson Valley. Louis, a member of Rhinebeck Rotary, is a recipient of Rotary International’s highest honor, the Service Above Self Award, as well as a Paul Harris Society member, a Rotary Foundation Major Donor, and a Bequest Society member. Louis was also on the US Board of Directors for Rotary’s official disaster relief Project Partner ShelterBox, and has recently been a member of the Albert Schweitzer Institute’s delegation to the Nobel Peace Laureate World Summits for four years. Louis was recognized for his humanitarian work by President Barack Obama with the President’s Volunteer Service Award for seven consecutive years.
An architect by profession, Mr. Turpin is married to Julie Turpin, who teaches at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and they have three adult daughters, Alissa, Amanda and Sarah.
